Thunder Bay 50/50
Website Redesign

I was tasked with developing the wireframe for the new Thunder Bay 50/50 website, with a dual focus: creating a more intuitive and engaging user interface for ticket buyers, while also improving the back-end procedures to make updates simpler and more efficient for the team. The goal was to establish a foundation that balanced user experience and long-term functionality.

Old Website Layout

Some challenges we found with the old layout were:

  • No upper navigation, users had to scroll to the very bottom for sub-pages.

  • Grand prize winner carousel difficult to update and would not format automatically.

  • Monthly winners area looked bulky, and early bird winners would rarely send in photos. This left a lot of placeholder images, which did not look professional. We would also have months with 30+ winners which made the section very large.

New Website Layout

Some of the highlights of the new layout are:

  • Upper navigation added underneath the main image.

  • Grand prize winner carousel is smaller and easier to update. I worked with our site developers to describe how we update these sections and came up with a solution to make less work for our team.

  • The monthly winners area was changed to a non-image focused section that is collapsable. I also incorporated some of the Foundation branding elements with the swooshing above this section.
